Information We Collect
Contact Information You Provide
When you contact us, place an order, or sign up for any service, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and shipping address (including zip code). We use this information to communicate with you about your order or inquiry and to fulfill the services you’ve requested.
Payment Information
When you purchase a preservation service, we collect payment information (such as credit card number, billing address, and expiration date) on an as-needed basis to process your order. Payment data is transmitted to our payment processor (see Third-Party Services below) and is not stored on our servers in its complete form.
Order & Service Information
To fulfill your preservation order, we collect information about your dress (the service selected, any personalization options, special instructions you provide). We also collect tracking data related to the shipment of your dress to and from our preservation facility.

Cookies & Tracking
The Site uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — to enhance your experience. We use three general types of cookies:
Functional Cookies
Required for the Site to work properly — for example, to remember items in your shopping cart, keep you logged in during checkout, or remember your preferences. Without these cookies, you cannot place an order from our store.
Analytics Cookies
Used by Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the Site. The information generated is transmitted to Google in anonymous form. Google does not associate your IP address with any other data it holds, and neither we nor Google will link an IP address to the identity of a specific person.
Advertising Cookies
We use marketing technologies to measure the performance of our advertising and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the Site — including Google Ads (remarketing) and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, managed through Google Tag Manager. These tools may set cookies that recognize your device across websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and Meta’s ad preferences.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. Declining cookies may prevent you from using some features of the Site, including placing orders.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:
- Fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy
- Complete and document your preservation order (typically 7 years, to comply with tax and accounting recordkeeping requirements)
- Respond to inquiries, complaints, and legal claims
- Comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You can request earlier deletion of your data — see “Your Choices & Rights” below.
Data Security
We are committed to maintaining the security of your personal information. We use industry-standard safeguards including:
- TLS encryption for all data transmitted to and from the Site (the padlock icon in your browser confirms this).
- Secure servers behind firewalls with limited administrative access.
- PCI-DSS compliant payment processing through our payment processor.
- Access controls ensuring only authorized personnel can view personal information.
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and processes.
No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.
Your Choices & Rights
You have several choices regarding the information we hold about you:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we have about you.
- Correction — request that we update or correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information (subject to legal recordkeeping requirements that may require us to retain certain information).
- Opt-out of analytics — use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop your data from being used by Google Analytics.
To make any of these requests, please use our Contact Us form. We will respond within 30 days.
Children’s Privacy
Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us via the Contact Us form and we will delete the information promptly.
Links to Third-Party Websites
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, resources, and partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit through a link from our Site.
Legal Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information in special cases if required to do so by law, court order, subpoena, or other government or law enforcement authority — or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary or advisable to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering with the rights or property of The Wedding Dress Preservation Company, another user, or anyone else.
