Changes or Cancellations
Orders placed before 3:00pm EST/12:00 PST ship the same day. If you need to cancel or make any changes to your order prior to 3:00pm EST/12:00 PST, please contact us by email or using our ‘Contact Us’ form. Once your order has been put into production it isn’t always possible to make a change or to cancel your order without charge, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
IMPORTANT – Cancellation Fees: Please note that if your preservation shipping kit has already shipped and you would like to cancel your order there will be a $35.00 processing fee.
IMPORTANT – Address Change Fees: Please note that if your preservation kit, or preserved gown has already shipped, and you would like to make a change to the shipping address there will be a $40.00 change fee. UPS and The Wedding Gown Preservation Company charge us $40.00 to change an address once package is in route.
If you need to make any changes to an order, please submit your request in writing by using our Contact Us form or emailing us at [email protected] instead of calling us. Putting your request in writing will avoid any misinterpretations.
Affordable Preservation Company’s business office is located in Long Beach, CA. Our partner, The Wedding Gown Preservation Company, and the cleaning facility, is located in Endicott, New York and has been in business for over 100 years. They are the the largest wedding gown specialty cleaner in the United States and do not sell directly to the public. We are the top online ‘Elite’ dealer for The Wedding Gown Preservation Company. They have a network of online dealers, gown shops and dry cleaners that are authorized to sell their services. We have been partnered with them for over 20 years. We request that if you have an issue that you please contact Affordable Preservation Company first to resolve it. All gowns are cleaned and preserved at the Wedding Gown Preservation Company’s facility in Endicott, New York.
We will gladly accept any kit returned to us for a full refund less a $35.00 processing fee within 30 days of purchase. The kit must be unopened and in re-saleable condition. Note: Refunds are for the Item only and do not include shipping and handling costs or any rush charges. Customer pays return postage. Please include a copy of the original receipt with your return. Any refunds will be credited back to original credit card or the PayPal account used for the transaction.
Damaged Preservation Kits
Should you receive a preservation kit in significantly damaged condition, please contact us within ten (10) days of delivery, via our Contact Us form or by calling (800) 887-0135. We would be happy to provide you with a replacement kit.
Pre-paid kits and wedding gowns are shipped free of charge to virtually any address in continental United States (please note that there is surcharge of $100.00 for Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO addresses). More about our shipping policies can be found here.
Affordable Preservation Company offers FREE same day shipping on all orders placed before 3:00 PM EST.
Please note that shipments are made Monday – Friday at 3:00pm EST/EDT. For example: An order placed on Friday before 3:00 PM EST will ship the same day. An order placed after 3:00 PM EST will ship on the following Monday. Please add 2 extra days if you order on a holiday or weekend.
Once you receive the kit from us simply follow the packaging instructions included with your kit or click here for online instructions.
The shipping of your dress is pre-paid for both delivery to The Wedding Gown Preservation Company’s facility and the shipping of your gown back to you as long as the return address is in the lower 48 states. There is a $100.00 surcharge for any gowns shipped from Alaska, Hawaii, APO of FPO addresses or returned to Alaska, Hawaii, APO and FPO addresses. There will be a prepaid label included in the kit. If you would prefer to ship your gown by another carrier, or with a faster delivery service you would need to do so at your own expense.

Additional insurance is available for your dress in increments of $1,000 at checkout. The insurance covers your dress in the highly unlikely event that your dress is lost, stolen or damaged from the point you send in your dress to the time it is received back by you. This includes both the shipping process, as well as the cleaning and preservation process. Please note that insurance covers the price of the dress and any accessories sent in with your order. A receipt for the original purchase price of all items (wedding dress, veil, etc) will be required for any insurance claim.

Your pre-paid kit will be sent to you via UPS Ground from Endicott, New York. Delivery times of the preservation kits vary based on the shipping address. The chart below provides an estimate of the delivery time from the time your order is received.

Once your gown is received at The Wedding Gown Preservation Company, the average processing time is 30-60 days. This timeframe may be slightly longer depending on the season and how many gowns are being processed. From the time your gown is complete, it will take another 4 – 10 days (see above chart) to arrive. You can check the status of your gown online using our Gown Status tool.
The email on your original online order will be used to send you email notifications letting you know both when your gown has been received, as well as when it has been sent back to you. There will be a tracking number within the notification that your gown is on its way back to you. You can then use the Gown Status tool or UPS MyChoice to see exactly when your gown will be delivered. Please whitelist [email protected] and [email protected] to ensure email delivery confirmations.
Gown Delivery Process
Please remember that when your gown is delivered, someone will need to be home, and will require an adult signature for delivery. Gowns are shipped with a signature required for your gown’s protection, so the gown will not be left unattended. UPS does not allow a pre-scheduled delivery day or time, however they will make 3 attempts before returning your dress to The Wedding Gown Preservation Company. You can utilize UPS MyChoice to set up a delivery confirmation and make changes to your delivery. Simply click here and get UPS MyChoice set up. Please note that there may be a fee to change an address after the gown has already been shipped as noted above.
Standard delivery is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. If you suspect you will not be home at the time of delivery, please utilize UPS MyChoice to make changes to your delivery. Please refer to the Shipping Guidelines regarding changing an address once your dress has been shipped back to you.
If your gown is returned as undeliverable after UPS has made three attempts, a shipping & handling fee will apply in order to ship your gown to you again.
